About

Harrison Houde is a Canadian-American director, actor, and producer working between Los Angeles and Vancouver. He is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, and UBCP/ACTRA.

His feature directorial debut, Tight Lettuce is a bilingual drama co-written with Dakota Daulby. Its world premiere is at the 2026 Fantasia International Film Festival. His Japanese-English proof of concept Cafe Racer won Best Editing at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival and Best Director at the Tokyo Film Awards, screened at the Beverly Hills International Film Festival, and was an official selection at American Cinematheque’s inaugural Proof Film Festival. His first short, I Dare You, premiered at the Festival de Cannes through Telefilm Canada’s Not Short on Talent.

Through Vesperia Films, the production company he co-founded, Harrison produces and develops a slate of independent features, shorts, and original IP. His producing credits include the TDE Films short The Art of Deception; Term, starring Dean Norris with the voices of Mark Hamill and Mindy Cohn; and Keelhaul (SBIFF 2026, Sitges 2025). He stars in and produces Vance, distributed by Alter (Gunpowder & Sky), with a feature version in development executive produced by Michael Hirst. His original development slate includes Meltdown, Faultline, Goat Town, In the Tub, and Meet Me at the Grand Staircase, spanning his Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Quebec bases. He was the lead producer on MrBeast’s main-channel video in Japan which has over 430 million views.

As an actor, Harrison made his film debut as Darren Walsh aka “the Cheese Touch kid” in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and was a series lead on Netflix’s Some Assembly Required for all three seasons. He has appeared in Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, Paramount+’s School Spirits, and the cult feature Summer of ’84. He also hosted the children’s science series Finding Stuff Out, personally winning a Canadian Screen Award for Best Host while the show took Best Children’s Non-Fiction Series.

He works fluidly across North American and Japanese markets in both English and Japanese, and is currently represented by PLAY Management.
